Have you heard of the Harvest Hosts program? Unless you are a regular RV’er, I’m guessing probably not. Here’s how it works… you pay an annual fee (about $70 I think) which gives you access to almost 800 wineries, breweries, distilleries, farms, and more where you can camp for the night for free. We were very excited to try our first Harvest Host while we were traveling from Indiana Dunes National Park to Badlands National Park in South Dakota.

We needed a stop midway between the two places to break up the drive, so we found Round Lake Vineyards and Winery in Round Lake, Minnesota. From the moment we arrived it was absolutely perfect. The weather was ideal, the grounds were gorgeous, and it was wonderfully child and pet friendly.

The wine tasting was just $6 for 5 wines, and bottles ran from about $14 – $24. So we tasted then ordered a bottle, along with some food. It was all delicious!

We sent Trent on a mission to take some pics, and he impressed us by coming back with the following (I deleted the 300 selfies he took, LOL):

End of the night…

We woke the next morning to a gorgeous sunrise over the lake!

Does anyone else use Harvest Hosts? If you do, please share your favorites!
