Nashville was a quick bucket-list stop after Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Three hours after we left the National Park, we arrived in Nashville. None of us had ever visited Nashville before, so we figured we’d check it out!
We started by paying a visit to an integral part of Nashville culture, Pancake Pantry! The line was out the door and wrapped the front part of the building, but it moved amazingly quickly. Within about 20 minutes, we were in the door, seated, and perusing the menu of 23 varieties of pancakes. We each ordered something different, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! If you’re ever in Nashville, don’t pass up Pancake Pantry.
After brunch, we walked through Vanderbilt University which was the perfect way to burn off some of those pancake calories. The boys loved checking out the Nashville scene!
We wanted to hear live music, so we headed to Blake Shelton’s Ole Red, which we had heard was one of the “kid friendlier” places on Broadway. Live music, check, kid friendly, check. It was the perfect spot to hear some music and have a drink. We sat upstairs and the boys had a blast trying to hit the musician’s tip bucket with dollar bills from the balcony.
After Ole Red, we headed to the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge which was great. We watched a barge navigate its way down the river, heard a street singer, watched a wedding, almost got hit by about 200 scooters (seriously Nashville, calm down with the scooters), and more. Good times.
Overall, Nashville was fun, but we’d have to agree with those people who refer to it as “NashVegas”. We definitely would have preferred to visit sans kiddos, but overall, it was a great day!
Sounds good so far. Stay safe and have fun. I’ll be waiting for the narrative on your next stop!
Thanks Ed! We are definitely having fun! Trying to keep up with the updates, stay tuned!
