We had the best time in Louisville! We parked our RV right in front of Hotel Louisville LaJoie and let me tell you, southern hospitality was in full effect. Hotel Louisville LaJoie rates 5 stars all the way – amazing food, friendliness, entertainment… the list goes on! A HUGE thank you to Scott, Stacy, Harrison, and Andrew for making our stay so amazing! And bonus, neither of the cats were eaten by our enormous dog… I’ll call that a win!
While we were in Louisville, we visited Bernheim Forest, which is an arboretum, nature preserve, and research forest just outside of Louisville. It’s a really great place for kids and adults to explore, hike the trails, and enjoy the beautiful foliage and exhibits. We were told there were Forest Giants there, so we were on a mission to find them!
How cool and crazy are these creations?! There are three scattered throughout the forest, and we had so much fun finding each of them. They are huge and just so impressive!
Later on we went to an adorable restaurant for dinner, then popped into a pet boutique for some gourmet treats for the pup (hoping to discourage him from eating the cats!).
We were all so sad to leave, but we have an itinerary! What a treat to get to spend time with the Louisville LaJoies, we loved every minute! And Stacy, I’ll be dreaming of those bourbon slushies for the rest of the trip, incredible!
Those giants are SO AWESOME!!!
Aren’t they?! The artist is Thomas Dambo, check him out. He has lots of other giants in other places as well.
